On this page
A buffalo farm is rarely run by one person. Someone weighs the calves, someone handles breeding, a vet comes by, and sometimes a student or researcher records data for a project. If all of that has to go through the owner's phone, the owner becomes the bottleneck, and the records fall behind.
Farmeter Buff is built for this. Its product page says the farm can be managed by several people at once, and that roles and data access can be set for each team member. This guide walks through the real screens: how an owner invites people, how a worker joins, how approvals and removals work, and what to do when joining doesn't go to plan.
The app's screens are in Thai. Below I give each label in English first, using the wording from the app's own English translation, with the Thai label you see on screen in brackets.
Who this is for: farm owners who already have a farm set up in Farmeter Buff, and the people they want to bring in. If you haven't installed the app yet, start with the install guide and come back.
The short version
- The owner creates an invitation and shows its QR code, or copies its code.
- The worker signs in, picks the worker role, and scans the QR or types the code.
- The worker sees that the request was sent and is waiting for the owner's approval.
- The owner approves it in the Requests tab. The worker is in.

Owner side: Members & invitations
Open the menu on the Home screen (the ☰ icon at the top left) and tap Members & invitations (สมาชิกและคำเชิญ). As the owner you see three tabs:
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Members (สมาชิก) | Everyone in the farm. The owner is marked Farm owner, everyone else Member, with the date they joined. |
| Requests (คำขอ) | People who used one of your codes and are waiting for you to approve or reject them. |
| Invitations (คำเชิญ) | Every code you have created, with its status. |
Members who aren't the owner only see the Members tab. Inviting, approving and removing people are owner jobs, and the app keeps them on the owner's screen.

Creating an invitation
On the Members tab, tap Invite member (เชิญสมาชิก). While you have no invitations yet, the Invitations tab also shows a Create invitation (สร้างคำเชิญ) button. The screen explains that the invitation lets new members join the farm, and that you can set an expiry date or leave it unlimited.
- Expiry date (optional) (วันหมดอายุ (ไม่บังคับ)): pick a date and a time. The app only accepts a time in the future.
- Leave it empty and the code never expires on its own. You can still cancel it later.
When should you set an expiry? If you are inviting a short-term helper, a group of students for a field day, or you plan to share the code in a group chat, an expiry date limits how long a forwarded code keeps working. For a long-term worker standing next to you, an unlimited code that you cancel afterwards is fine.
Sharing the code
Each invitation card on the Invitations tab shows its status (Active, Expired or Cancelled), the code itself, when it was created, when it expires (if you set a date), and a counter such as Used 2 times (ใช้งานแล้ว 2 ครั้ง). An active card has a menu with three options:
- Copy code (คัดลอกรหัส): copies the code so you can paste it into a message.
- Show QR (แสดง QR): shows the invitation QR code on your screen. This is the easiest way when the person is standing next to you.
- Cancel invitation (ยกเลิกคำเชิญ): more on this below.
The QR code and the code are the same thing: scanning the QR simply fills in the code for the worker. And one code can be used by more than one person, which is why the card counts its uses. A code is a way to ask to join, not a free pass: every person who uses it still lands in your Requests tab.
Worker side: joining a farm
The worker installs Farmeter Buff, signs in, and reaches Select your role (เลือกบทบาทของคุณ). There are two choices:
- Farm owner (เจ้าของฟาร์ม): create a farm, manage members, view data and plan work.
- Farm worker / veterinarian / researcher (พนักงานฟาร์ม / นักสัตวบาล / นักวิจัย): help record data within the farm and view farm information.
Workers, vets and researchers pick the second one and tap Continue (ดำเนินการต่อ). The next screen is Join a farm with an invitation code (เข้าร่วมฟาร์มด้วยรหัสเชิญ):
- Type the code into Invitation code (รหัสเชิญ), or tap the QR icon to open Scan QR code (สแกน QR โค้ด) and point the camera at the owner's screen.
- Tap Join farm (เข้าร่วมฟาร์ม).
- The app confirms: Join request sent successfully. Waiting for farm owner approval (ส่งคำขอเข้าร่วมฟาร์มเรียบร้อยแล้ว รอการอนุมัติจากเจ้าของฟาร์ม).
Already using Farmeter Buff for your own farm and want to help on someone else's? You don't need a second account: the menu has Join a farm (เข้าร่วมฟาร์ม), which opens the same screen.
Approving, rejecting and tracking the request
On the owner's phone, the request appears in the Requests tab with the person's name and when they asked. Tap Approve (อนุมัติ) or Reject (ปฏิเสธ).
Before you approve, check that the name is someone you expect. Codes can be forwarded, and the approval step is where you decide who actually gets in.
On the worker's phone, while they belong to no farm yet, the app opens Track your request status (ติดตามสถานะคำขอของคุณ), which lists each request with one of three statuses:
- Pending (รอดำเนินการ): the owner hasn't decided yet.
- Approved (อนุมัติแล้ว): the app notes that once the owner approves, you can start using it right away.
- Rejected (ปฏิเสธแล้ว): ask the owner what happened, then Enter a new invitation code (กรอกรหัสเชิญใหม่) if they send another.
Who can do what
Farmeral describes Farmeter Buff as a multi-user app where you can set roles and data-access rights for each team member, with sign-in, authentication and authorisation included in every plan. In everyday use, the line you will notice most is between the owner and everyone else:
| Task | Owner | Member |
|---|---|---|
| See the member list | Yes | Yes |
| Create, share and cancel invitations | Yes | No |
| Approve or reject join requests | Yes | No |
| Remove a member | Yes | No |
| Edit the farm profile | Yes | No ("Only the farm owner can edit") |
| Manage the farm's plan | Yes | No ("Only the farm owner can manage plans") |
The other half of teamwork is knowing who recorded what. Both store listings say you can view log history to see when and who is making changes to your data. In the app, Record history (ประวัติการบันทึก) lists entries by date and type, and when you open an entry, most record types show who recorded it under Recorder (ผู้บันทึก).

Not everyone who works on the farm needs an account. When you record who did a job, for example the AI technician on a breeding record, the person picker has a Farm staff (บุคลากรฟาร์ม) tab for app members and an External staff (บุคลากรภายนอก) tab for people who don't use the app.

Removing a member and cancelling a code
People leave, seasons end, students finish their projects. There are two separate clean-ups, and they do different things:
Removing a member. On the Members tab, open the menu on the person's card and choose Remove member (ลบสมาชิก). The app asks you to confirm and states the effect: they will no longer be able to access this farm. The owner can't be removed.
Cancelling an invitation. On the Invitations tab, open the card's menu and choose Cancel invitation. The app explains that the code will no longer work and new members can't use it to join. Cancelling a code does not remove people who already joined with it. If someone should lose access, remove them on the Members tab as well.
A tidy habit: when a helper's season ends, remove them, then cancel any codes you no longer need.
When your plan's member limit is lower
Each Farmeter Buff plan lists a maximum number of farm members. In the app, the count of farm members excludes the owner. The product page also says that when you reach a limit, you can't add new users until you change plan (your existing data stays), and that a downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
That leads to two screens worth knowing:
- The quota is full. The Invite member button is hidden. If someone still sends a request, approving it shows a message that the farm member quota is full and asks you to upgrade or remove existing members first.
- The farm has more members than the plan allows, for example after a downgrade. When the owner opens Members & invitations, the app explains how many members the plan supports and offers Upgrade plan (อัปเกรดแพ็กเกจ) or Manage existing members (จัดการสมาชิกเดิม). That opens Select members to keep (เลือกสมาชิกที่คงไว้): you tick up to the limit, the app shows how many will be removed, and asks you to confirm. The owner is always kept.
Neither screen deletes your animals or records. They only decide which people keep access.
Troubleshooting: symptom, cause, fix
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Invalid QR code (QR Code ไม่ถูกต้อง) after scanning | The QR isn't a farm invitation (for example a website QR), or the camera caught a different code | Ask the owner to open Show QR on the invitation card and scan that screen. Tap Retry to scan again. |
| The scanner opens phone settings instead of the camera | Camera permission for Farmeter Buff is off | Allow the camera in the phone's settings, or type the code instead. |
| The code field shows a format error | The code is shorter than 6 characters or contains spaces or other symbols | Codes use only English letters (A–Z), numbers, - and _. Use Copy code and paste rather than retyping. |
| Invitation code is invalid or expired (รหัสเชิญไม่ถูกต้องหรือหมดอายุแล้ว) | The code passed its expiry date, was cancelled, or was mistyped | Ask the owner to check the card on Invitations. If it says Expired or Cancelled, they create a new one. |
| You already have a pending join request for this farm | A request is already waiting | Nothing to resend. Ask the owner to check the Requests tab. |
| Request stuck on Pending | The owner hasn't opened Requests, or the farm's member quota is full | Remind the owner. If approval fails with the quota message, the owner removes a member or changes plan, then approves. |
| You are already a member of this farm | Joined earlier | Open the menu (☰) and use the switch-farm button to change to that farm. |
| Picked Farm owner by mistake at sign-up | The owner path leads to creating a new farm | Go back before creating one. If you already made a farm, use Join a farm in the menu to join the right one. |
| A former helper can still open the farm | The code was cancelled, but the person wasn't removed | Remove them on the Members tab. |
A last word
The flow has a small number of moving parts: a code that opens the door, an approval that decides who comes in, and a member list that the owner keeps tidy. If you keep codes short-lived when you share them widely, check names before you approve, and remove people when their work ends, the farm's records stay in the right hands.
