Most farmers I know open LINE before they open anything else in the morning. Family groups, the feed supplier, the vet, the co-op: it all arrives there. A farm app can only remind you of something if you look at it. So we built Farmeter's reminders to arrive in LINE as well, through a farm assistant called เจ้าบุญมี (Jao Boonmee).
This guide sets it up step by step. Between the steps I'll walk through a made-up morning on a buffalo farm, so you can see what the reminders look like in practice.
About the story: the farm, the animals and the times in the "morning" sections are an illustration, not a real customer. The buttons, messages and rules are taken from the current Farmeter Buff app and the Jao Boonmee service.

What Jao Boonmee is
Jao Boonmee is Farmeral's farm assistant on a LINE Official Account. On farmeral.co.th it is listed as the fourth product, after Farmeter Buff, Farmeter Beef and Farmeter Cooperative. The site describes it as a way to connect your Farmeter account to the LINE you already use, so you can ask for data and get important alerts without opening another app. It lists three jobs: alerts for pregnancy-check days, calving days and recording schedules; looking up buffalo data in the chat; and sending analysis results when they are ready. This guide sticks to what the menu buttons and reminders do in the current version.
The app store listings say the same thing in one line. The App Store page for Farmeter Buff mentions connecting the "เจ้าบุญมี" LINE OA to get notifications in the LINE app, and the Google Play listing says it in Thai.
Two things to know before you start:
- Jao Boonmee reads your Farmeter data. It does not replace the app. You still record matings, pregnancy checks and births in Farmeter Buff. The reminders come from those records.
- It works per person, not per farm. Each farm member who wants reminders links their own LINE account.
Step 1: add Jao Boonmee as a friend
There are two ways in:
- From the website. The Jao Boonmee section on farmeral.co.th shows a QR code to scan with LINE, and the LINE ID @914zjhhx to search for.
- From the app. In Farmeter Buff, the ติดตามเรา (Follow us) page has a LINE entry that says you can connect with the app to get notifications and analysis from Jao Boonmee. Tapping it opens the official account in LINE.
Once you add the account, LINE shows its chat with a menu at the bottom. LINE calls this a rich menu: a menu shown at the bottom of the chat with an official account, made of an image with tappable areas and a chat bar that opens and closes it. LINE's documentation notes that rich menus don't appear in LINE for PC on macOS or Windows, so use LINE on your phone for this guide. Jao Boonmee's menu has four buttons, and we'll use all of them.
Step 2: link your LINE account to Farmeter
Adding a friend is not enough. Jao Boonmee doesn't know which Farmeter account is yours until you link them. For safety, the link is always confirmed inside the Farmeter app.
- In the Jao Boonmee chat, tap เชื่อมต่อกับ Farmeter (Connect with Farmeter) in the menu.
- The bot replies that, for security, linking is done through the Farmeter app only, with a button เชื่อมต่อผ่านแอป (Connect through the app). Tap it.
- Your phone opens Farmeter Buff on a page called เชื่อมต่อบัญชี LINE (Link LINE account). If you aren't signed in, the app first takes you to sign in with your phone number, then comes back to this page.
- When the app shows พร้อมเชื่อมต่อแล้ว (Ready to connect), tap ไปที่ LINE เพื่อยืนยัน (Go to LINE to confirm).
- LINE opens and Jao Boonmee replies that the account is linked. From now on the menu buttons show your farms.
If LINE doesn't open in step 4, the app shows a short message that it could not open LINE. Check that LINE is installed and signed in on the same phone, then tap the button again.
If LINE shows an error, or Jao Boonmee says the link has expired (ลิงก์หมดอายุแล้ว), start again from step 1 by tapping เชื่อมต่อกับ Farmeter. LINE's developer documentation says the link token behind this flow is for one-time use only and valid for 10 minutes, and that LINE shows the user an error if the token has expired or was already used. So a link left open too long won't work.
For the curious: in LINE's account-linking design, LINE checks that the person confirming is the same LINE user the link token was issued for. It then sends the service an event with the LINE user ID and a one-time value (a nonce) that the service uses to find the account that started the link. Your LINE password is not part of this flow, and Farmeter never asks for it.

A morning with Jao Boonmee (illustration)
Picture a small buffalo farm with a dozen cows and a few young heifers. The owner recorded a mating three weeks ago, a calving last month, and the birth of a calf in the spring.
This morning the daily summary arrives in the Jao Boonmee chat: one message for each farm, headed with the date and the farm name and split into four parts:
- 🔴 งานเกินกำหนด: tasks that are 1 to 3 days overdue (older ones are left out so the list stays short)
- 🟡 งานวันนี้: tasks due today
- 🟢 งานพรุ่งนี้: tasks due tomorrow
- ✅ งานที่เสร็จแล้ววันนี้: tasks already finished today
Today it says a pregnancy check is due for the cow mated three weeks ago, and a heat check is due tomorrow for the cow that calved. Each line shows the task, the animal's tag and name, and why it is due.
The owner checks the cow, opens Farmeter Buff and records that she is pregnant. The pregnancy-check reminder is now marked done, so it drops off the upcoming-task list, and Farmeter sets a due-date reminder for day 330 after the mating.
Step 3: use the menu
The four rich menu buttons, from top to bottom:
| Button | What you get |
|---|---|
| ดูสรุปข้อมูลของฟาร์มคุณ (see your farm summary, the large top button) | A summary of every farm on your account: number of animals, males, females, and how many are pregnant |
| ดูงานที่กำลังจะมาถึง (see upcoming tasks, bottom left) | Reminders due in the next 7 days, plus any up to 3 days overdue |
| เชื่อมต่อกับ Farmeter (connect with Farmeter, bottom middle) | The linking flow from Step 2 |
| แจ้งปัญหาและติดต่อเรา (report a problem and contact us, bottom right) | Support: the Farmeral email address, or type a message to the team |
If you tap the summary or the task list before you have linked, Jao Boonmee asks you to link first. If your account has no farm yet, it asks you to create one in the Farmeter app.
Which reminders exist
Jao Boonmee doesn't make up its own schedule. Farmeter creates reminders when you record certain events, and Jao Boonmee reads them. In the current version of Farmeter Buff these are:
| Reminder | Starts from | When it is due |
|---|---|---|
| Heat check, young heifer (ตรวจสัดกระบือสาว) | The heifer's birth date | When she reaches breeding age |
| Heat check after calving (ตรวจสัดหลังคลอด) | A calving or abortion record | 21 days later |
| Heat check after a failed mating (ตรวจสัดหลังผสมไม่ติด) | Recording a pregnancy check as not pregnant | 21 days after you record it |
| Pregnancy check (ตรวจท้อง) | A mating record | From day 21 after the mating, repeated daily for up to 7 days |
| Due date (กำหนดคลอด) | A confirmed pregnancy, counted from the mating date | Day 330 after the mating |
| Weaning (หย่านม) | The calf's birth date | Day 270 (about 9 months) |
| Growth measurement (วัดค่าสัตว์) | The animal's birth date | Days 240, 400, 600 and 720 |
The measurement days match the age groups on the app's growth-recording screen (birth, 240, 400, 600 and 720 days), so when a reminder arrives you pick the matching group.

┌─────────────────┐ │ LINE • │ │─────────────────│ │ ( PREG CHECK ) │ TASKS │ │ (○) │ ( WEANING ) │ │ │ ┌────────────┐ ┌────────────┐ │ ( HEAT CHECK ) │ │ WEANING │ │ PREG CHECK │ │ │ └────────────┘ └────────────┘ │ ( PREG CHECK ) │ ═══════════════════════════════════════════ │ │ (|) (|) (|) (|) (|) (|) (|) (|) │ ( WEANING ) │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ ( HEAT CHECK ) │ │ │ │─────────────────│ ─────────────────────────────────────────── └─────────────────┘
What does this mean for your records? The reminders are only as good as the dates you enter. If a mating isn't recorded, there is no pregnancy-check reminder and no due date. If a calf's birth date is wrong, weaning and measurement days will be wrong too. Spending a minute on each record pays off later.
What depends on your plan
The public plan table on the Farmeter Buff page splits Jao Boonmee into two rows:
- ขอดูข้อมูลฟาร์ม (asking for farm data, like the summary and task list): Standard, Growth and Professional; Enterprise "as supported".
- แจ้งเตือนข้อมูล (receiving alerts, like the daily summary): Growth and Professional; Enterprise "as supported".
The Free plan includes neither, but every plan includes in-app notifications. Prices are on that page and change over time, so I won't repeat them here.
The alternative: notifications in the app
If you'd rather not use LINE, or your plan doesn't include LINE alerts, Farmeter Buff still notifies you inside the app. The bell at the top right of the home screen opens the การแจ้งเตือน (Notifications) list. Your phone can also show reminders as push notifications. These use the same reminder types as above, plus a few farm events: someone asking to join your farm, a join request being approved or rejected, and a co-operative linking your farm. Tapping a notification takes you to the farm and the animal it is about, switching farms if needed.

You can use both. Many people will want the push notification for the moment a task is due, and the LINE summary to plan the day.
Privacy and unlinking
When you link, the Jao Boonmee service stores which LINE user goes with which Farmeter account. That lets it read your farm list, summaries and reminders for you.
Farmeral's privacy policy (in force from 1 October 2025) explains what personal data the company collects, such as the phone number and one-time code used to sign in. It also lists your rights under Thailand's personal data law, including asking for a copy of your data, asking for it to be deleted when the legal conditions are met, and withdrawing consent. To unlink your LINE account or make any of these requests, email support@farmeral.co.th, the contact given in the policy, or use the แจ้งปัญหาและติดต่อเรา button in the chat.
